1. This memorandum is in r, :;,-,ons, -co your requirement which --
requests a detailed description of the c_:_itro1 building area and the
barracks/support area and NPIC vie on he function-of_the-site.
2. Indications arethat t rimaly function of the Phu Coc
radio facility is receiving. T-ni: -onclusion is based on the presence
of the FISHBONE antennas which are not suitable for transmittin
and the fact that major communication-
aci i ies of this type are not mixed. -In addition to the six
FISHBONE antennas there are six Vee and two horizontal antennas.'
Both the'control'bull-dIng area-and the support/barracks\
area are, secured by a low masonry wall with
probable guard posts at the entrant--s. to each area. This security
is not unusual and'is similar to :t found at the three other major
communication-facilities in North . _etnain (see .CIA/PIR-35/61i-) .
