GORKIY' USSR
This report is one in a series of studies covering seven selected
astronomical observatories within the USSR. The Zimenki Space Tracking
Station is a relatively small facility under the Scientific Research
Institute of Radiophysics in Gorkiy. It consists of two radiotelescopes
with 50-foot-diameter parabolic antennas capable of both space tracking
and radioastronomical observations.

The Zimenki Space Tracking Station of the Scientific Research Institute
of Radiophysics is located at 56-09N 44-17E, on the south bank of the Volga
River approximately 13 nautical miles southeast of Gorkiy, USSR (Figure 1).
The station has facilities for radioastronomical observations as well as
satellite tracking.

Analysis of photographyl evealed 25X1
no significant changes in the station. Ground scarring was observed east-
southeast of Radiotelescope #1 on coverage of 25X1
The latest usable coverage, 25X1
was snow covered, and it provided no new information pertaining to the ground
scarring.
