so it can be included in the Noon pouch
to Adm. Turner at EOB. He desires it for
meeting with Secretary Brown tomorrow
night. The requested information is as
follows:
1. Flow many military billets are there?
2. How many will become available this
summer?
3. Total list of all military billets by
Service; when each individual in that
billet reported for duty; and when
he is expected to leave.

1. The two attachments contain the information
concerning the capability of the Intelligence Community
Staff.to bring aboard additional military personnel.
This information has been developed in conjunction with
that Staff.
2. Attachment #1 lists 13 positions. While only
one, the last listed, is specifically identified for
military occupancy, the ground rules with the Depart-
ment of Defense are such that military officers may
be used in any of the total positions listed. Attach-
ment #2 lists, by service, the military personnel on
duty with the Staff and gives indication of the total
additional number that can be brought on duty.
3. As you may be aware, the size of the Intelli-
gence Community Staff is a matter of current dispute
between that Staff and the House Appropriations
Committee. Until that dispute is resolved they have
been iven a moratorium on hiring any additional person-
nel. can give you additional facts on
this matter.
