Of interest in connection with the appointment of a new accountabla officer is the rtire general s-ubject of Communications warehousing. 2. On 24 Nay 19481 You approved a warehouse for COO separate and apart :from the warehouse operated by the Services Branch CIA. OSO contemplated the movement of all OSO property from the I I 25X1 25X1 I Ito the new I Ion l July and, with a view to 25X1 making such a move, requested on 14 AVM 1948, by aerwarardial for the Director through the Executive for A & 1, 19 additional positions with which to operate the warehouse. Colonel Galloway's memorandum setting forth this request, dated 14 June 1948, subject: *Revision of TA, Transportation and Supply Division, Office of Specie] Operations," was never acted upon to the best Icnowledge of this office. 3. I an informed that the Communications warehousing operation has not beon formalised nor established by appropriate df.rective durimg the past tvo years. Under the present and revised administrative re- organization, this office apparently has no direct istertst in how this problem is solved; however, this office is responsible for providing Communications for all of CIA and believes that this problem should receive immediate attention.
