'ABSTRACT: The author describes a method used to purify radioaci;ive
water under field conditions. For this purpose a sinple
f ilter- consisting of several layers of sand and gravel
can be used, 'When the radioactive water is put through
such a filter, it is completel: purified in 15 minut0s.
Y
Of-great importane 'e is the proper size of sand and gravel
grains, which can vary .from 0.3 to 30 mm. The simpletst
filter that dan be made and used under field conditions
is a barrel filled'with layers Df sand and ravel. Suah
a filter is capable of purifyini~ 2 to 2.5 ml of radio-
.active water in one hour, Two diasrams.
