Title -7 ~On tf,"e' linearized theory of the flaw of a supersonic stream of gas
around a body of revolution
Periodical PrileL. mat, i Mekh., 19, 363-36T, MaY-June 1955
Abe-tract The Author presents an approximate solution of the linearized equation
of Oe axisiumetrical supersonic~flaw of-a gas. He bases his method
on the fact that the solution can be expressed in- finite form. He
states that this method of solution is applicable forIthe calculation
of todies of revolution vith channels and for parts of bodies of revo-
lution on segments of a contour not extending to the axis of symmetry.
Restilts are tabulated and graphed.

TEXT: This paper supplements the autho'r's earlier work. The Le-
gend.-re transformation is applied to Chaplygin equations in the ca-
nonical form -and the- rou ult ing equations are again reduced to the
canonical form. Using Liouville-'s formula-for,-a goneral solution
and an inverse transformation, one obtaing canonical equations con-
tai;,,iing two more arbitrary constants. This procedure can be repea-
ted any number of times. Assuming, the initial system to be sim.'ple,
one can attempt to approximate i/Kn_ for adiabatic gas flow by suit-
able choice of 2(n - 1) constants. The method precerves some im-
portant properties of the solutions of the initial aystem of equa.-
tions, e.g. undisturbed flow at infinity and, with some restric-
-tions, the-condition for the.continwation of subsonic flow into

ISSTRAOT: The fundamental difficulty in the investigation of filtration in thei
gr1ound by the tracer atcm method is due to the adsorption of the
tracer matter by the ground and the exchange of isotopes. In this Woric
the expe:dments were conducted on a quartz sand speciinen in regard to
simple tuid complex cobalt ions. The following were used as tracer
cations: simple cation odbalt-60 of the C'O(NO3)2 oamptruna, and thi
complex cation 3+ of ~J; (N07,),
compound. As traver

pound was used. The investigation of the adsorption ca-paoity of the
ground oamprised the tracer material distribution between the Bolutia,2
