ABSTRACT: F. Paschke (Ref 1) %derived a non-lineir differential
equation (with respect to the axial component of the'
electric field) which Is soluble for the case of.a transit
klystron, Howeverl Paschke assumed that the electron
velocity-modulation coefficient vras much smaller thane
unity. It was found, however, by one of the authors
(Ref 2) that the.problem could be solved even if the
modulation coefficients were near to unity.

"Calculation of Transition processes of Electric Drive with a Shunt- Wound
Motor controlled by the Variation of the Excitation Current, with Consideration:of
the Armature Reactions." 16 june 1947. An analytic exproBsion is proposed for the
magnetization curve of a dc machine, which includes, with sufficient accuritcy, the
entire magnetization curve. On the basis of this expreasion, an: analytic determin-
ation is made of the values of the resulting flux, of the fluxes of the amature
reactions, and the coefficient of self-induction of the exciting winding in them
functioning of the excitation current and load. A graphic 'analytic method'is de-
veloped for calculating the transition processes of shunt control of the electric drive
for various loads and resistances of the armature circuit, both with and without con-
sideration of the influence of the armature reactions and armature inductance.

crystal can be described by Eq.(l), where '0(t) is the:
difference between the temperature of quartz and that of the
surrounding medium, m is the mass of the quartz resonator,

The problem of the fluctuation-dependoht stability limit
of the frequency of quartz crystal generators has note
been solved until now-The present work is showing a way
for this and gives the results of the investigations of,the
fluctuations in the quartz crystal generators used irv.
practice. Iftithis symbolic differential,equations are
solved by means of the method of small parameters. In the
problems of the fluctuations in systems.of a~itovibrati6n
only the spectral range of the fluctuations contained
within the limits of the bonds plays a part. It is
a characteristic feature of quartz crystal generators that
they have two greatly differing bandst the first is
dependent on the time constant of the circuit regenerated by

a constant I -v bias was applied.to p-n junctions in the course of their preparation
by the method of im u1se welding. ~Thia resulted in a partial compensation of the

diodes proved to be higher than that7 for conventional diodes. Conclusions:
(1) The electric field in the junction region affects the distribution of impuritiesi

impurities can be controlled by application of an external voltage during !he

The influence of subconjunctival Injections of hypcrionic salt solution3 and of the
severing of the spinal cord upon the electroretinogtialni were atudied.in frogs of
the species Rana temporaria. The experiments were carrit ,d out with the follow-
ing method: before starting the experiment immobility was achieved by injections
of urethane or curare. Then. after a dark-adaptation of 30 min. duration, the
light of a lamp of 500 Wait was focused, by means or a lens, upon the corinea for
0.02 sec. The ERG was taken down on the 28th and the 30th min. of darkla-dapt-
ation and after stimulationwith white light. Thereupon,, in one series of experi-
ments, 0.02-0.1 mi. of a 5% soluti ' of common sali was injected under the C'on'

junctiva; in another series, the spinal cord was destroyed; 4(ter that the'light
Stimulation was applied as described above. It was established that the subcon-
junctival Injection of common salt and the destructicilt of th~ spinal cord effect a
sharp lowering of the wave with a consecutive gradual restoration
