ABSTPACT iThe results of an experimental production run using
semi-coke of Polish origin is 4soussed. The coke is a suitable
fuel for stntering operations 4Lthe capacity and the quality of
the product ara not influenced Iby this fuel. The amount of
the medium-size grain is increased ( .1 to 25 mm),, while the
amount of the lar e size grains (over 25 am) is reduced; the
fines (below 3 mml remain unchanged. The semicoko does not
need to be treated for reduction of its size, and does not need
drying as it-is received dry and st112 hot from carbonization;
this reduces the,cost of treating the fuel and results alsso in
a closer maintenance of the amount of fuel fed to the furnaaes

contact, a galvanometer and battery; the whole forms a resistance-
measuring bridge. In the null condition," tile length or the second

TITLEs Principle Trends in Maoromoleculir Chemistry Research
during the Third Five-Year Plan

ABSTRACT: Research work in macromolecular chemistry falls into the
following three groupas 1) study of the structure of
macromolecular substances.; 2) the synthesis; and
3) the reaction, of macromolecular compounds. The
structure of macromolecular compounds, especially of
isotactic volymersilis important when determining the
mechanical-p-r-o-p-e-rTies of these polymers and their
molecular configurations. Investigations by Wichterle,
Noutecky' and Staudinger are mentioned. Detailed
inves-tigations on the structure and properties of
macromolecular substances are to be_carried out in the
new Idstav makromolekula'rni chemie CSAVI (Institute for
Macromplecular Chemistry of the Czechoslovak Academy of
Card Sciences . The importance of the concentration of
