Abstractt The straw contains (in %): cellulose (C) 39, lignin 23-5, pentosans
19.4. C is obtained by the caustic soda or the sulfate method with
subsequent bleaching. DeccLipwition during the cooking process is
more complex than in the case of cereal grain straw. On treatment
with 15% CaO (on basisr of absolutely dry fiber) senichemical pulp is
obtained which is used in manufacttix* of cardboard. Soda cooking is
carried out with 22-28% NaOH (om basis of absolutely dry fiber) at
145-1650 for 4-6 hours. MQdulus 711. On sulfate cooking expenditure
of alkali amounts to 22-30% NaOH (on basis of absolutely dry fiber),

the constant Cf was calculated on the assumption
that the poten ial curve has a minimum at R = 3A.
Using the above-described instrument, the authors
have obtained the first five vibrational energy

The apparatus operates on the principle of the an-

T-','XT: The present state of the general theory of photo-conductivi-.-
ty is reviewed. The energy level diagram o-f US is considered. In
polycrystalline layers, in addition to donor and acceptor levels ge-
nerated by impurities, there are defects of another type, for examp-
le vacant nodes in the lattice;.therefore such layers are not iden-
tical with monocrystals in their properties. The technology of poly-
crystalline photo-resistors developed at PIE, Poland, is descrited;
the role of activators (Cu and 01) is considered as well as the in-
fluence'of heat treatment on their parameters, the integral and
spectral sensitivities, the relaxation time and dark current. Photo-

ABSTRACT: The paper Is devoted to the solution of a boundary-value problem of
the thermal stress theory in relation to a thin, open, spherical shell of constant
thickness. An arbitrary axisymmetric temperature field was considered, with the
temperature at the boundary (which is a circular conic surface) as zero. The
states of stress and displacement were expressed In the general case of tempera-
ture distribution In the form of series of ordinary and Legendre polynomials with
real indices. In some special cases of spherical shells and special cases of heat-
ing, closed form results can be obtained. An example of such a case to a hemi-

The neutron-diffraction pictures were taken with a remote-control neutron

The wavelength of the neutrons which were monochromatized by reflection
