TEXTj It is shown that transition to the half-wave supply
system for electric filters unavoidably impairs purification.
It is recommended that the half-wave circuits should be applied
only when the power demand exceeds the machine power and it is
either impossible or uneconomic to instal more machines,
However, when the dust trapped is of high resistance or the
purified gas is highly ionised a higher voltage can be maintained
with half-wave supply, which improves the purification effect.
