Abstract The presence of nephrolysins was studied in 48 patieets
with diffuse glomerulonephritis at different stages of the
disease. Autoantibodies were detected by the agglutina-
tion reaction in the patients' blood; skin test did not
give a positive reaction. The authors reject an allergic
mechanism in the pathogenesis of glomerulohephritio; they
emphasize the direct action of the autoantibodies on kid-
ney tissue and consider the development of glomerulonephri-
tis as an immuaotoxic reaction.

Abstract: Study of changes caunod by brain tumors revealed a
loizering of the albumin fraction and an increase in all the
globulin fractions. No connection between the localization of
the tumor and the protein spectrum could be detected. Noither
was it possible to find any difference between the influence of
malignant and benign tumors. The changes in the 3poctrum par-
sisted aren when the tumor was extirpated. No references. Sub-

spectrum of the proteins. It appears that the chanZes are due to extravasal
