Abstract: The.authors determined and tabulated the disinte-
gration time of various tablets with the FP III method and
in the "Erwaka VZ We apparatus and found no significant dif-
ferences between the two methods. They discuss the signifi-
cance of this time and factors affecting it. 1hey also do-
scribe several pharmacoepoa methods for its determination
and cite norms required in various countries. There are
14 references, of which three (3) are Polish, two (2) each
German and Soviet, and seven (7) English.

TEXT: A patent has been issued for a radiosotope device designed to measure velocity and head of water
circulating through the boiler - fecd-water system for steady and unsteady flow. Amplified discharges of a
Geiger-Mueller counter, irradiated by a Co6O source, are recorded on a constant-motion film of an oscilloscope.
The velocity meter consists of cylindrical body (1) (see figure) containing a three-vanc impeller (2). One of
these vanes carries a cartridge with the radioisotope Co60; the other two vanes are equipped with counter-
weights. The body.(I) is enclosed in two protecting lead antimony alloy housing (9) and (10). The ring-sbaped
housing (9), cast together with the ring-haped body has a wedge-like slot which communicates with the
Geiger-Mueller counter. The second h us
ing (10),hos a conical shape. The running time of the impeller is less
than 3 sec. There are 4 figures.

TEXT: A continuation of the author's previous article in this pub-
lication (no. 6, 1962), containing a description of the suitability
test of sheet metal for deep drawing operation of a square blank
specimen formed to a shape of a cup. This test, adopted in USSR,
enables the coefficient of deep draving properties of sheet metal

TITLE: Applying technologIcal tests to estimate the deep

TEXT: The author describes and compares various technological
and metallographic tests to which a sample of sheet metal is to be sub-
jected in order to find the best criterion of its drawing quality. Refer-
ence is made to Polish standards PN-57/H-92121 stating the requirements
of sheet metal for drawing purposes. The results of tests carried out a-IV
the Plastic Deformation Laboratory AS USSR show the value of the c.-it.;--
cal stress and unit deformation as more reliable than the ratio Qr/,R2
0.7 - 0.75 (ultimate strength / elastic limit) recommended by the Lik-
hachev Automobile Factory in USSR as the criterion of good drawing chia-
racteristics. The bending test and Erichsen's test are described with
precautions to be observed and results obtainable, which can only deter-

mine good drawing properties in a plane stress distribution. The tech-
nological tests of drawing and multistage deep drawing described by the
author in detail give the best criteria of suitability of sheet metal

T EXT The author describes a number of machines exhibited during the Ex-
hibition of Soviet National Achievements in Moscow. Among the presses shown, the
author praises a 12,000 ton horizontal hydraulic press and a 30,000 ton vertical
A 63-ton automatic press Type A 843 W can be set to operate at single or
continuous strokes; 300-mm wide and 4-mm thick metal sheet is fed mechanically.
The number of strokes may be regulated from 80 to 250 strokes per minute. For
automati,c transport of objects from one press to anothep special bins Type SKB-3
are us6d, described in "Stanki i inbtrument 1959, No. 2". Further, an universal
conveyor and metal sheet feeder, whose feeding stroke mby be regulated from 2 to
25 mm, metal sheet thickness from 0.2 to 2 mm and width of 48 mm, operates success-
fully with high-speed presses. Its feeding accuracy, operating with a press per-
forming 500 strokes per minute, is + 0.03 mm. It-was noted during the exhibition,
that A trend of using finiversal tools is Tiridely spread in the USSR. A number of

metal sheet bending tools, batter rulers, ring shaped cutting tool and universal
