Prague, Activitas Nervosa Superior, Vol 8, No 2, Jun 66, pp 219-220 Abstract: A differentiation of psychogenic and endogenous de- pression was attempted by observing motor activity by means of repeated pressing of a dynamometer. Because the repeated pressing hurt the palm of the hand, the method is complex, and represents a volitional effort. 24 women patients with endogen- ous depression ond 24 with psychogenic depression were studied; the only difference between the 2 groups was that psychogenic depressives responded better to encouragement d"ring the perfor- mance of the t?sk, Indicating a better contact with the environ- ment than the other group. A technological scheme is worked out for the prepa- ration of a household soap (HS) with a 5% DDT M- The chemical, lphyBical chemical and insecticidal properties of such soaps were studied* An analytical method was develo- pea for determining the contant of I in HS, the method Card 1/3 - 26 POLAND/Chemical Technology - Fats and Ollsi Waxes. Soapso H-25 Detergents. Flotation Agents. Abs Jour Ref Zhur - Khimiya, No 24, 19581 83149 being based on the application of different solvents for I and for fatty acids (FA), which are present in HS. First I is extracted with other from an aqueous solution of HS, the fatty acids are then separated, dissolved in 94 alcohol and are analyzed by conventional methodso The ether is evaporated and the residue is dissolved in alcohol and is determined according to the method of Ya-ause and Zhmykhowska (Roczniki, RZH, 1950, No 2)- Error of the analysis is 2%. It was established that a pre- paration of uniform HS is provided by the introduction of 1, in the form of a solution, into naphthenic soaps) tallol and others. The specific odor of I is eliminated by additions of turpentine (up to 1%). The insecticidal action of HS containing I manifests a 100% death of para- sites after 42 hours. The results are presented which pertain to the comparative experiments with a few varieties of HS contain- ing I, concerning their effect upon Pediculuc humanus ves- timenti immediately after the preparation of HS and after 18, 32 and 58 weeks. It was established that IM with a 7% content of I, maintain their insecticidal properties for not less than one year. The insecticidal action of HS does not depend on the nature of the solvent for I. It was pointed out that laundry washed with HS or an emulsion with I maintains protective action for 6 months. Card 3/3 - 27 - BOJANMBYJ~, A. Soaps with DDT. IT. In the first method, caustic potash is used to separate !!Zee out the carbasolol the anthracene fraction is purified by using high- Ce 0 0 ng pyridine ba zoo Will sea. The second method in based entirely on the uss, see so of solvents. Anthracene oil Is so rated from the oaks by washin the PS, 0 aude anthrasone vlth hot solvent naphtha and filtering or centrifuging foe : 0 at 150.
