Title Energj Integrals for 3d Electrons in Body-Centered Iron.
OrIg Pub Acta phys. polon., 1955, 14, Ito 6, 493-495
Abstract Six energy integrals with 3d functions of the central atom inc/,-iron,
the next nearest atom, and the following atom were calculated in the
strong-coupling approximation. The integrals were reduced to bipolar
integrals, containing functions with 6-, 7F, and@' symmetry relative to
th3 line joining tile central atom with its neighbor. Each Integral was
calculated as the difference between the integral over the entire space
and the integral over the sphere of the central atom, the radius of which
was taken to be half the distance between the central and nearest atoms.
It is noted that the results of calculations are somewhat too high
because Pxchange was neglected.

iibstract : The author calculates the polarization of protons during dis-
integration of deutercns by unpolarized electrons. Me nuc-
leons were assuned to be point particles, and the electro-
r2agnetic interaction was considered in the dipole appre%xima-
tion. The magnitude of the polarization depends substantially
on the type of interaction between the neutron and the proton.
The ma imum polarization reaches 28%@ if one assumes the
nuclear forces te be central, with a zero radius of action.

Wave functions and energy value of the finite crystal are required in either
method. In this paper distant dipole-dipolar forces are examined during inter-
action of cells, and the distortion of several matrix elements at the crystal
boundary are studied. The author uses the Heitler-London-Heisenberg method to
find the energy and wave function of an exciton in a plane-parallel plate. Limit;q
are drawn for the applicability of cyclical conditions. It is shown that the
wave functions of body excitons.are orthogonal to the wave functions of surface
euitons. "The author expresses his deep thanks to academician S. 1. Fekar for
valuable comments and for guidance in the work." Orig. art. has: 36 formulas.

A histological report of the effect of N-mustard on the stomach, intestinal mucosa, lymph.
apparatus, liver, lungs and kidneys in 60 %@@hite rats. Three forms of dosage were
employed: (1) 1 single dose of 100 or 200 i4g. per 100 g. of body weight@ (2) thi hme
Gose given dail for 3 or 4 consecutive days, and (3) 7_5 to 100 ig. per 100 g. used for
from 7 to 155'5ays. The compound acts on die nucleoprotein substance of the entire
cell,.as it damqges not only the dividing, a.-Ils, but also the resting cells. In dividing cells
no phase has been found to prevail, among the distorted mitotic forms. CeH destruction
began 10 min. "'after the administration GF the drug. One hr. later the nuclear substance
became powder-like and subsequently agglutinated into coarse globules while the ceils
underwent destruction. The maximum effect occurred after 6 to 12 hr. The most severe
changes were found in the mucosa of the duodentun; in the srnafl intestine, colon and
stomach they were gradually milder. The lymph-apparatus is almost equally sensitive.
In the latter system. the chromatin dissociated into globules, while in the epithelium
deco-mposition through mitosis was also frequent. The lesions depend both an the
quantity of the drug and the frequency of administration. Colchicia acts in a similar way,
only the changes occur more slowly, reaching a maximum in 24 hr., and their regress.,on
is more rapid. DvofiLdek - Plowouc

ven for intravital staining a 1:15 dilution of sodium fluorescein in a dose of 10 ml./

under the fluorescence microscope. It was established that sodium fluorescein is
retained by the necrotic and necrobiotic parts of the liver and therefore is longer
excreted by kidneys of 7-nice with necrotic livers than by those of controls. The
behaviour of the dye In non-necrotic parts of regenerating hepatic cells, adenoma

explanation of these phenomena will be the subject of further studies.

"The Effect of Heparin and Reparinoids on Aldosterona Production."
Budapest, Orvosi Hetilap, Vol 104, No 29, 21 July 1963, PP 1360-1363.
Abstract; [Authors' Hungarian summary] The effect of heparin and heparin-
oid preparations on the production of the adrenals of rate were studied
by the authors. After intravenous administration of these compounds,
aldosterone production was reduced significantly, corticosterone in-
creased slightly, with total steroid values unchanged. The selective,
aldosterone-decreasingr effect of hnarin is stressed, which is unique
among compounds used for the decrease of aldosterone production. This
opens a wide perspective for its use experimentally and clinically.

germinoma."
Budapest, Orvosi Hetilap, Vol 107, No 52, 25 Dec 66, pages 24?5-2478.
Abstract: [Authors' HunCarian summary] The case of a 15 year old girl is
described who suffered from hyalinosis of the skin and mucous membranes, and
also had a dysrerminoma. No data were found which would have indicated a
hereditary factor and an examination of the chromosomes also failed to reveal
any changes in the leukocyte cultures, The material deposited in the connec-
tive tissue of the skin and mucous membranes, and especially in the wall of
the small vessels, was judged to be a glycoprotein after extenuive histological
examinations and in agreement with literature data. The simultaneous presence
of the two extremely rare diseases, hyalinosis and dysgerminoma, is attri-
buted to chance and no relationship was found between them with respect to
either course or clinical and histological appearance. 6 Hungarian, 21

TEXTs A method is proposed for determining t@he distribution function of

1ABSTRACT: The authors describe a spin generator operating at 40 Me,
iwith a modulation frequency of 5 or 10 kas, in which the modulation
@frequency is phase-syncbronized with an external stable frequency to
make it possible to use the generator for experiments with double
iresonance.-ViViAe generator is used as a stabilizer in a nuclear

;diode limiter, filtered, and applied to the modulation coils through
,a power amplifier. To hold the modulation frequency constant, the
ifiltered audio signal is fed to a phase detector where it is compared'
!with a very stable audio signal from a quartz oscillator. The output!
@voltage is applied to a parametric diode of tl-L- high-frequency os-
1cillator, whose frequency was made to follow exactly the variations
!of the magnetic field. The stabilization coefficient at 10 kcs is
@1250 and increases with decreasing operating frequehey; it falls to
j70 per cent of its initial value at 250 cps. Orig. art. has: 1 figurd,
