The intramuscular injection of cortisone before infection
with the virus shortened the incubation period but did not
change the clinical manifestations of the disease. No varia-
tions in the sensitivity of swine of various districts to

Abstract [authors' Russian and English summaries, modified): RNA preparation
obtained from pig kidney by phenol extraction was tested for its immunogenic
properties in rabbits. The rabbits were inoculated with RNA-tannin complex
adsorbed on their own erythrocytes. No RNA antibodies could be detected in
the sera of the inoculated rabbits by passive agglutination of coated erythro-*
cytea and gel precipitation. The results obtained suggest that RNA prepara-
