ABSTRACT. The structure J the potassium Derrhenate molecule KRe04 in the va
e'd' -por
state was studi with the electron diffraction camera used aiFKGG-for investigating
compounds of low volatility. The substance was vaporized off a molybdenum and a nick-1
e1 ampoule, the vapor being emitted along the direction of the electron beam at a tem-1
perature of 800-9000C. The electron diff-raction patterns were read by visual and pho-1,
tometric evaluation of the electron scattering intensity, using radial distribution
and successive approximation methods. The radial distribution curve had peaks at r i--
values of 1.75, 2.20 and 2.75 A, which were readily interpreted as the distances Re=O,~,
K-0, and the composition of distances between unbound oxygen atoms, respectively. Thei;
final configuration Of KRe04 was determined by the successive approximation method.

'The Re04 group was found to form a tetrahedron with the oxygen atoms at the vertices
and the Re atom at the center; the Re atom forming one single and three double bonds
with the oxygen atoms. The K atom is located in a plane passing through one of the
edges of the tetrahedron, and is projected on the line of intersection of this plane
with the basal plane. The following values of internuclear distances and angles were
.obtained: r(Re=O) 1.75 A; r(Re-0) = 1.95 A; r(K-0) 2.20 A; O-Re=O = 950; K-0-Re=

ABSTRACT; Development and verification of methods for the determination of
the curling of bookbinding calico and a paper-base leatherette and the
residual (linear) deformation of the calico. it is established that the
curling of calico due to one--sided applicaticn of glue increases bv
251/6 when the amount of air-dried gelatin glue changes froni 4Z to
28 g/m2 and is proportional to an increase of the temperature of
the dissolved glue frorn 200 to 450; in coniparisoii with the c1lHing
caused by water, the curling due to a 10LYo casein gliie is 64cYo less,
that due to a 40~1olatin glue is 78% less, and that. due to a 500/6
dextrin glue is 83. o. The indicators of the residual deformat'on

TITLEa Projective-Metrical Theory of the Pairs T of Complexes
(Proyektivno-metricheakaya teoriya par T kompleksov)
PERIODICALs Matematicheskiy abornik, 1958, Vol 46, Nr 4,pp 399-420 (USSR)
ABSTRACT: A "pair T of complexes" is a pair of complexes between the
rays of which there exists a biunique oorrespondence so that
to every pair of corresponding rays thore oorresponds a
demiquadric cutting harmonically both complexes along these
rays. This notion was given by the author fRef 1] some years
ago, where at the same time he asserted that to every such
pair, in a certain sense, there corresponds a three-dimensional
surface S. In the present paper the author uses these relations,
especially a configuration consisting of a focal family of
rays and a surface, in order to investigate further properties
of the pairs T of complexes. The author finds a great number
of properties; there result many generalizations of older
well-known facts. The author uses the metrical methods of
the projective geometry aocordingto B.A.Rozenfelld [Ref 27
and the methods of Cartan [Ref 31. The formulated assertions
Card 1/2 partly are already announced ( see author [Ref 127).
