Investigations were made with 55 white rats in 5 lots, Lots 1-3 received biostimulant implants into the parietal region of the riSht hemisphere in the form of pieces or homogenate of rat brain and R1JAs while lots 4 and 5 received rat brain and RNA subdutaneously. The animals were.sacrificed between 1 and 60 days"following operation, the brain'was fixated, and about 1000 nerve cells Mere counted to determine the four stages of amitotic nduron dividions from rest to the 2-cellular form, Mathematic process- ing of the figures showed that the amitotic cell division in lots 4 and 5 had not clianged'. but that-in the other lots showed initially decreased rdsting cellIS, th-:n increased cell division from the 5th:to the 17th 2 ACC NR. j~P5623373 pastoperati7p day.. No difference. was seen in cell division of the left or. right half, although only the right half had received the biostimu- lants, Both, biost-imulants and the trauma were considered causative factors. Abstract: The results of tests of sagger:3 under working conditions at the Dmitrovskiy porcelain factory are related. The composition of the saggers was as follows (in %% by weight): fine cY~amotte to 2 mm - 40, Druzhkovskaya clay - 25, Latnenskaya clay - 15, indu- strial alumina - 20. Alumina was not burnt additionally. Alu- minous saggers are more expensive than chamotte saggers by 13.5%, but they are used 5 times instead of 4 for burning plates; the expenses of buffing soiled products are considerably less. The assembly line for forming consists of three bands, and on both of its sides six molding machines are arranged (fig. 2). The ready shaped teapots are placed upon the middle band, which has a Yridth of 400 mm, and which moves towards the drying plant. The two lateral bands move in the opposite direc- tion and bring the gypsum molds back. The velocity of the assembly line is 1.6 m per minute. Previous drying of the teaDots to 17-18% moisture content is carried out in a drying plant of 11.5 m. length at a temperature of from 75-800 at a velocity of 0.528 m per minute and an output of 5000 per shift, which corresponds to the work per- formed by 5 formers. Previous drying of the teapots in the molds takes 1.75 hours, and molding takes 25 minutes. The teapots Imocked out of the molds are conveyed by means of a transversal conveyer band to the conveyer band for finishing, v&ere seam are straight- Card 1/2 ened and holes are drilled into the sieve. This conveyer band has a Assembly Line Production in Teapot Molding 72-2-1 V20 width of 650 mm and a length of 12 m, and is operated by 12 workers, half of whom are occupied with finishing, the other half with fastening parts; work is carried out in a sitting position. The velocity of the assembly line is 1.65 m per minute, and each viork- ing place has a length of 2 m. From here the products are conveyed to the drying plant which is able to hold 5000 teapots. From here they are conveyed by conveyer band to the second floor, ahere they are finished. Finally, they reach the burning furnace. Formers are paid according to the number of teapots they produce. All products are marked. The introduction of assembly line vtork resulted in an increase of output of 15% as well as 'in a considerable reduction of the time needed for molding, which now amounts to 10 hours. Inn 1955, the USSR had 111478 scientific workers in pedagogical sciences. The number of aspirants in all branches of science rose from 21p905 in 1951 to 29,362 in 1956. Out of this, during the same period,,the number of aspirants in pedagogical sciences rose from 862 to 1,037. Much was done for the development of the methodical teaching of physics by A.G. Kalashnikov, full member of the RSFSR Aca- demy of Pedagogical Sciences, and by the associate members of the RSFSR Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, P.A. Znamenskiy, D.D. Galanin, A.V. Peryshkin, B.S. "Inamenskiy, Member-Cor- respondent of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, on "Pe- quirements, a Second 'Grade Physics Textbook Should Meet". The ensuing discussions dealt with Tany questions pertaining C, to the contents of secondary school physics courses and con- tained crit1cal remarks on existing textbooks. Special com- missions discussed thoroughly the requirements of first and second grade textbooks. Physics textbooks must be composed according to a definite, scientifically-based methodical systlem. 'Phe article quotes the full contents of the require- ments as elaborated by the Conference. 1. Physics--Textbooks 2. Physics--USSR Card 2.12 BASHKATOV, Mikhail Rikolayevich; OGORODNIKOV.
