PURPOSE AND COVE RAGE: The book represents a provisional correlation both
of research material and observational data. It provides information on large
and small deposits as well as on phosphate shows for understanding the specific
characteristics of phosphorite reservoirs, their tectonic setting and develop-
ment as well as for determining the patterns of distribution and genesis of
phosphorites. The book is intended for scientific and technical personnel who
deal with the exploration and study of Asian phosphorite deposits and their showsv-

a number of deposits in the Provinces of Kweichow, Hunan, Hupeh, Honan
and Liaoning. In addition, he studied specimens and sections received from
the Chinese Provinces of Kiangsi, Chekiang, Hunan, Szechuan, Shansi, Hopei
and Shantung, from the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region, from Vietnam,
Korea and from the Western Baykal region. The author expresses his thanks
to Prof. Yeh Lien-chun, Cheng Chih, Meng Hsiang-hua, and Chleng Sang-plei,
as well as to V. V. Arkhipov, A. N. Sukharina, A. 1. Sazhin, V. K. Kozyrin,

Experimental studies were carried out in rabbits. After massive roentgen irradi-
ation. the fractures treated with intramedullary metal infibulation healed normally
with formation of bone callus; no complications in the course of the healing process
were noted. When, under the same experimental conditions, the rabbits were sub-
jected to operation with auto- or homogratting the formation of bone callus was
