TOPIC TAGS: geology, geologic exploration, 'phospho rite, phosphorite deposits
PURPOSE AND COVE RAGE: The book represents a provisional correlation both
of research material and observational data. It provides information on large
and small deposits as well as on phosphate shows for understanding the specific
characteristics of phosphorite reservoirs, their tectonic setting and develop-
ment as well as for determining the patterns of distribution and genesis of
phosphorites. The book is intended for scientific and technical personnel who
deal with the exploration and study of Asian phosphorite deposits and their showsv-
It is based on the author' s study of the following Riphean and Cambrian I
phosphorite deposits visited by the author in 1958-1960: Kara-Tau in Kazakh- 1

Chinese Anhwei Province, Kun-yang in the Yunnan Province, as well as
a number of deposits in the Provinces of Kweichow, Hunan, Hupeh, Honan
and Liaoning. In addition, he studied specimens and sections received from
the Chinese Provinces of Kiangsi, Chekiang, Hunan, Szechuan, Shansi, Hopei
and Shantung, from the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region, from Vietnam,
Korea and from the Western Baykal region. The author expresses his thanks
to Prof. Yeh Lien-chun, Cheng Chih, Meng Hsiang-hua, and Chleng Sang-plei,
as well as to V. V. Arkhipov, A. N. Sukharina, A. 1. Sazhin, V. K. Kozyrin,
A. M. Shigarev, B. M. Zhukovskiy, 0. P. Yegorova and other Soviet and
Chinese geologists who assisted him in his task.

TITLE: Methods of calculating density fields on aeroclima-
tic maps
PEIZIODICa: Referativnyy zhurnal, Goofizika, no. 11, 1962, 75,
abstract 1IB415 (Tr. N.-i. in-ta aeroklima~ol.,
no. 16, 1962,.41-44)
If no allowance is made for the specific humidity
r~hen estimating the density at the level 850 mb, this may lead to
relative errors of u-p to 0.50-0.70ci'a. The'differences in the spCci-
fie humidity along isoth6rms on pressure relief maps were found to
be great for all levels. Therefore in the density calculation iso-
therms can be reckoned as lines of equal density, taking for the
.estimation the mean specific humidity value, along the isotherm.
Disregarding fluctuations of the humidity along the isotheiin leads
to errors of 4 0.305'. in the density calculation, which is comparable
-to errors arising from inaccurate pressure and te erature measure-

Experimental studies were carried out in rabbits. After massive roentgen irradi-
ation. the fractures treated with intramedullary metal infibulation healed normally
with formation of bone callus; no complications in the course of the healing process
were noted. When, under the same experimental conditions, the rabbits were sub-
jected to operation with auto- or homogratting the formation of bone callus was
more rapid and intense. Teneff -Turin (EX. 14. 19)

Abstract: In the determination of aluminum A13' an excess
of the titrated eomplexone 111 (1) solution is
added and heated to 700-800C. Hot water (100 mi.)
is added, and the solution Is neutralized. To

ABSTRACT: 7he activation method is widely used to determine the CZ)F2
content of ores; in most cases a fast-neutron source is used for t"-e analysis.
'Che activation is due to fast-neutron threshold reactions and to (n,),-)
reactions of thenial neutrons fonred by the slowing down of the fast neutrons.

ABSTRACT: Twenty-eight types of bean plants infected with a stem
blight caused by Ps. fabae were studied. The Leningrad strain of Ps.
fabae was not sharply specialized, affecting red clover and other
plants as well. It was found that when the average summer temperature
is 60-802 of normal, conditions for the development of the disease are
less favorable. Orig. art. has: 2 tables. (W.A. 50]
