Investigation of this problem (i.e. replacement of tne bunches of wires by printed elements) was commenced at the T17SLA Karlin establishment towards the end of 1960. Preliminary economic evaluation showed that by employing the printed-circuit technique a considerable reduction in materials and labour could be achieved (261,'j saving in man-hours and 70 km saving in' ;-.rire). A printed conductor strip was developed for general use in telecommunications equipment and various samples imrere subjected to the following tests: preliminary values of the various parameters; dry-heat'test at +6o 0C for 16 hours; frost of -41 OC for 7 hours; humid heat at +50 to +30 OC for 96 hours; Card 1/2 z/ o1 4/ 6 2/ 000/003/0 011/004 Printed circuits .... E192/r,382 dry heat at +60 C for 24 hoursi vibration test at 25 C-P-S-_._~ at 1.25 g; impact tests at 10 g; current-load test and functional tests. The problem of soldering the printed- circuit strips (in particular, automatically) was also investi- gated. It is concluded that although the present strip cannot be regarded as the final one, there is no doubt that the printed circuits for interconnecting exchange relays and selectors are economically justifiable and mark a step forward in the modern trend towards miniaturization. (I zucheaJ4 # vzaimodeyatviya e!firoy foaforistoy kisloty a galoidnymi alkilami metodami fiziki- khimicheskogo analiza, Russian) PERIODICALt Poklady Akademii Nauk SSSR, 1957, Vol 113, Nr 6, 9p 1269-1271 (U.S.S.R.) ABSTRACTs The rearrangement mechanism by A.Ye.ARBUZOV has already been vtudied since 50 years. According to his opinion the rearrangement of phosphites into ethers of the alkylphosphin acids are an inter- nediate stage, on which occasion an intermediate product of the ,~hosphonium type develops. This is experimentally proved for aromatic phosphites. According to one opinion such intermediate products collapse immediately and automatically. Some scientists, however, maintain that the rearrangement in question can occur according to another mechanism without affixing the alkyl halide to the phosphite. Here results are described which were obtained on the occasion of the investigation of ARBUSOV's rearrangement'by ineiLne of the physical-chemical analysis method. The main task was -to show the possibility as to how the diagram composition-property can be used for the study of the problem of the formation of an intermediate product. The interaction between triethylphosphite Card 112 ASSOCIATIONs PRESENTED BYt SUBM ITT ED 1 AVAILABLEs Card 2/2 Interaction between Phosphorus Ethers and ?~ - .1 - 231 11; 9 Alkyl Halides Studied by means of Physical-Chemical Analysis. and iodine-ethyl and bromine-ethyl as well as with dibromineethyl- ether, furthermore of the interaction between triphenylphosphite and iodine-methyl and -ethyl was investigated at various temper- atures. Illustrations I and 2 show the results of the measure- ments of the constants at these temperatures. The isotherms on this illustration reflect the chemical interaction between the oom- ponents but they do not make it possible to draw conclusions con- corning the formation or lacking of the intermediate product. Apparently the composition of the system is more complicated and the intermediate product collapses partly in alkyl halide and in art ether of the phosphin acid. In the case of the system triethyl- phosphite-a, B-dibrominediethylether, the results of the diagram composition-property confirm the chemical interaction in the system arid, together with the data of V.S.ABRAMOV, give proof of the formation of an affix-intermediate product in the process of the rearrangement of triethylphosphite into ethoxybrominephosphinacid. ABSTRACT Arbuzov, who discovered the re-grouping of phosphorus ethers, as well as of the ethers of alkil phosphine acids under the in- fluence of galold alkiles assumed that regrouping takes plase by the formation of the intermediate product by the ooupling of the galoid alkile to the trivalent phosphorus. For aromatic phosphites the formation of the intermediate product by separation was proved. For aliphatic phosphites a separation of the intermediate products is not possible (apparently be- cause they do not keep). The results obtained by ARBUZOY when investigating re-grouping by the thermographic method are des- cribed. By this method it Is possible, without difficulties, to prove the development of processes occurring as a result of liberation and absorption of heat. In order to oheok the possibilities offered by the thermographic method thermograms CARD 1/2 The Investigation of the Re-Grouping acaording to A.z. ABRUZOV by the Thermographia Method. of the system triphonyi-phosphine- iodomethane were made. The thermographic method shows the formation of intermediate pro- ducts on the occasion of re-grouping (according to ARBUZOV). This applies not only in the oaae of aromatic phosphites but also aliphutio others of phosphoric acid, (With 4 tables and drswings) ASSOCIATION: not given. L. grippo-typhosa. L. catticola. L. Ictero- haeniorrhagine, L.hebdomadis, L.sejroe, L.pomona, L.mitia. L.bataviae, L. australis-A, L. australis-B. L. ballum. Positive rebult were gained altogether in 21 eases (21.1%); the canicola infection occurred in mo:t of the cases (16), but selroe (3) and pomoma (2) positivity occurred as well. Despite the canicola in- fection of dogs, there was no human canicola-fever in the capital, though in the country cases are not rare. The characteristic rural localization of the human canicola Infections can be explained by the fact that In the country the spreading role of domestic animals 1pigs, cattle, horses) must be taken Into account and the environmental conditions are also more favourable for the spread of the infection. %-wALM!6 ALFOLDT. For the designation of this now serotype, the name L. budapest is suggested. The colonies exhibited a high degree -53 and 78%, respectively- of seropositivity with d 4L: tha 13cal strain. The incidence of positive seroreactions increass6 w.-L h age and was more common in females than in males. Positive reactors har- .bored leptospires in the kidneys and occasionally in the liver. Abstract: [Authors' Hun,-,arian summary] Tests on a 3train of Leptospira (L. lee's), isolated from a human case of abacterial cystitis showed that the strain possesses the characteristics of saprophytic leptospirae. Further tests are needed to establish what the role of this strain of organisms might have been in the case of human abacterial cystitis, but it does not appear likely that the organism could have played a primary pathogenic role. Scientific Session Devoted to "Radio Day", Yay 19Ap Trudrezervizdat, Moscow, 9 Sep 58. Use of methods to design tube oscillators based on a linear idealization of the static characteristics in the case of load varying in =odulus and phase leaas to very tedius computations. Hence, if the load is Qetuned, then the design appears to be inexact because of neglect of the voltages created by the higher harmonics in the load. Consequentay, the most convenient solution to the problem would be such as would be given a direct, although approximate) relation between the basic plate current com- ponents, at first glance, its fundamental harmonic and the effective plate load re- sistance. Consequentlyp an approximate equivalent circuit of a tube oscillator has been developed and basic relations therein have been obtained for various operating regions. 21391 S/194/61/000/009/050/053 3 D271/D302 AUTHOR: Fuzik, N.S. Leningr. politekhn. in-t, 1960, no. 9, 16-25) TEXT: It is pointed out that the modulation index of phase modulation in the preliminary amplification stages does not exceed 20 - 300. This means that the frequency spectrum which must be passed by the oscillating circuit does not, in practice, differ from that of amplitude modulation, and the character of frequency distortion will be the same as in the Emplification of the modula- ted oscillations. The position is different in the penultimate and final stages of a transmitter. Frequency distortions in these stages are investigated, in the case of phase modulation in under- Card 1/2 S/194/61/'000/009/049/053 Frequency distortions... D271/D302 ~aturatad operation. An equivalent circuit of penultimate stages is formed, in which tubes are replaced by current generators. Mak- ing a number of assumptions (e.g. D = 0, etc) the author obtains analytical relations which make it possible to construct amplitude- frequency and phase-frequency characteristics of the apparent resi- stance, for various degrees of coupling between channels. It is shown that the law of amplitude and phase modulation of output vol- tages differs from the law of modulation of currents. Further on, frequency distortion.is investipted in final ower stages. It is shoi,m that they dive rise mainly to linear Mplitude-frequency and phase-frequency) distortions; furthennore, the character of these distortions differs substantially from those occurring in the amplification of modulated waves. Results of experimental checking of obtained data are given showing their good agreement with com- puted data. 2 references. fAbstracter's note: Complete transla- tionj? Card 2/2
