when trade betueen the two countries came to a standptil.l,o Thus, in February
of 1950 there remained in Czechoslovakia goods which had been destined for Yugo-
slavia to a value of 100,000,000 kcs., and titaich it was npossible 2o' the Czechs
to sell el;:erriiere. These good., included:

The Kovo representative stated that all these goods could be delivered by June
1950 against an irrecovablo credit 'c'rith the Zivnoctens1ca ,3en'.k in Prague. Payment
would be made in dollars or convertible pounds.
Since Kcutauann and ritsch vero unable to handle such a large scale proposition
by themselves, they approached lcrenia Import and Lxport in "crl n-

Dy the middle of March 1950, after protracted negotiations, a contract had been
