Next Review Date: 2008 CONFIDENTIAL 25X1 1,, The naval command at Chinnampo (125-24, 354th.) has moved part of its forces to Changnyon (125-18,; 3836), Hwanghae Province, Two companies are billeted in primary schools and the county offices at Kyomipo (V5-38., 3844). One battalion occupied primary school buildings,, county offices,, and hotels at Ionggtampo (1211-469 38-12)- I 2? Two 150-ton and two 200...ton patrol craft are stationed at Taechong do (121i.- t29 37-n50) and Paengnyong-do (1214-4i0, 37-58). Taechong Island has six guns (type unspecified) installed on the two sunrxi.ts (Chunsan and Pusan)., and there are some pillboxes (locations unstated),, The county office building and. the whaling company offices are occupied by 150 sailors. On Paengnyong Is- land, there are three guns on Sdpang ( 1 ) Liountain, and some pillboxes a Three hundred sailors are billeted in the buildings of the island9s fishing association, in the county offices., and in churches and private houses. The island is controlled by a self-governing unit of four or five native islanders 3, Six sailing vessels stopped at Taechong-do on the morning of 15 August for water supplies. According to some sailors from the craft,, they were from Shan- tung., carrying ammunition. All the vessels left the same morning on a course to the south; their exact destination was not revealed, to ,, Yougho Island (?Yonghodo-zip 125-20, 3746) has no soldiers.
