Spare parts for.US trucks were partly US stocks, packed in boxes with English 1 ttering, and artly manufactured in Koenigswuster $ausen M-33UVT069 Each of the GOFG,Armies had such a*parts depot, The 14th Gds ' . spare parts aepot or tanks a-on the MW lin a e. located near Finow /,See Enclosure A.. equ s ons re submitted by the Chief o e u o eft of e, 4th Gds. Mecz. Army and were carried out by German factories. Transportation organic to the 1787th picked up the materials and items. a. The 4th Ods. Mecz. Army had a food depot in Eberswalde M-33U t1.l9557 which had, 15 day level of supplies. b .."The 4th Ode. Mecz. Army had a,olothing depot in Finowfurt Z'`TM-33UVUll59. This depot also contained welfare, cultural, and ?01 tioal equipment (radios 1 , books, athletic equipment); c. The 4th Ode. Meoz. Army had a POL de of ee Enc s re ?7 in the woods near Biesenthal ,ATM-33UVU084 110 under- ground gas tanks there and ac tank held about 20 t. of gasoline. The depot also had an undetermined number of 200 litio ii-drums;-,of gasoline. d GOFO and 4th Gds. Meoz Army each ammunition depot in Finow. these two e, in the same town as a v e on a u r . The iron rations, (Neprikoenovenny1ogapasy) were not issued to.troops,'but were stored in GOFO or Army food depots. Weapons, equipment and clothing of line units of the 4th Gds. Mecz. Army, Finow were inspected daily by the unit first sergeant. The co9pany CO'made inspections once a week. The food was checked daily by medical officers. 25X1 13. shortages went through the following channels; from a unit supply officer to regimental headquarters, to division headquarters, which then informed army headquarters of the shortages. Army headquarters requested shortages from the front supply officer. The junior supply officers of the front would go to depots, which were 40-50 km. in the rear, draw the needed 14. 25X1 25X1 15. supplies and ship them by rail or truck (according to conditions) direct to the divisions, bypassing army and corps. A regiment picked up supplies from the division with vehicles organic to the regiment and distributed the supplies to subunits. The supply system functioned well during World War II. In April 1953 all food, clothing, POL, signal, and engineering equipment for GOFG was produced in the Soviet Zone of Germany and was stored in GOPO and, army depots.
