Approved For Release 2004 t J" RDP80R01720ROOQ00020024-4 19 February 1969 MEMORANDUM FOR: Harry C. Eisenbeies Executive Staff, 0/1)331 SUBJECT National Security Action Memorandum Noy 280 1. NSAM 280, dated 14 February 1964, set up an inter- agency coordinating committee under the chairmanship of Mr. William Sullivan of the Department of State. That committee died, Sullivan became Ambassador to Laos, and the committee was eventually restructured and reorganized under the chairmanship of Assistant Secretary Bundy. The Bundy group, on which I aft as the Agency representative, has now been given the formal status of an ad hoc group under the NSC by virtue of National Security Study Memorandum 21, dated 13 February 1969 (a copy of which is attached hereto for your information). Z. In light of the above. NSAM 280 has clearly been over- taken by events superseded by NSSM 21, and hence deserves decent ntermerit. George A.
