LOS ANGELES TIMES Approved For Release 20010: UX5RDP88-01315R0 Three Mafia mobsters funneled in-I formation to the Central Intelligence Agency that it used to prepare the' ill-fated Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba in 1961, the Sacramento Bee report- ed. The accusation was made by an unidentified former CIA agent. He told the newspaper that in return for the data the Mafia men would have. been allowed to recover money they: .had left behind when Fidel Castro took control of Cuba and to reopen their Cuban casinos-if the invasion ; succeeded. The former agent said Lawrence R. Houston, retired gener- al counsel of the CIA, had received the? information.
