1. This report describes the residential and industrial area of the
Dodonovo Atomic Energy Complex. It updates a report published in 25X1
which compiled an inventory of buildings, facilities, and physical features of
the entire complex.
2. This report provides additional photographic identifications of
subdivisions and facilities within the residential and industrial area of the
complex and a detailed description of two unidentified industry sections.
Mensural and chronological data are presented in both tabular and graphic form.
3. The residential and industrial area (Figures 1 and 2) of the Dodonovo
Atomic Energy Complexl is located approximately 18 nautical miles (nm) north-
east of Krasnoyarsk, USSR. The area facilities are constructed on alluvial
lowlands between the floodplain and the hilly uplands on the eastern side of
the Yenisey river and extend approximately 8.5 nm southwest-northeast in an
irregular corridor approximately 1 nm wide. Rail, road, and air transport
are part of the transport system of the city of Krasnoyarsk, and electric
power is obtained from the Krasnoyarsk electric grid system. Limited port
facilities are located on the Yenisey river at the southwest end of the area.
4. Significant related installations located in the vicinity of the
Dodonovo Atomic Energy Complex are the I and

river port facilities (item 15), vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair
shops (item 29), a probable building components plant for the building of
windows, doors, and prefabricated sections (item 28), along with supporting
housing, road and rail transportation facilities, storage areas, and utilities
such as water supply, sewage disposal, and electricity distribution.
North Facilities (Figure 5 and Table 2)
9. Facilities north of the reservoir include the main housing and
administration area with the supporting functions of warehouses and storage
(item 5), truck and bus facilities (item 22), recreation facilities (item 6),
and rail passenger service (item 7); two central heating plants (items 25 and
26) that include steam/hot water pipes extending into the of
the complex; a construction support base (item 37) directly related to the
and operational areas of the complex and to the
storage area; and an unidentified industry (items 14 and 15) of un a ermine
association. This unidentified industry is composed of sections A and B and
is described below.
Unidentified Industry (Figures 6 and 7, Table 3)
10. The five major buildings in section A in the unidentified industry
were apparently complete when the area was first observed in
Additional buildings constructed since have completed the aci ities.
A security wall encloses the section and security gates at the points where
the road and railroad enter the section.
11. The specific function or type of production conducted cannot be
determined. No clues were obtained from observation of materiel within the

cars, principally flat and gondola, that are frequently seen within section A.

storage building (item 27). The other rail spur extends along the security
wall and ends near a probable storage building (item 27). Prior to 1966, this
rail spur extended to two small buildings on the present site of an unidentified
processing building (item 37). An additional rail spur which branches from the
railroad that serves the transshipment yard in section A enters section B and
extends into the probable fabrication building (item 28).
14. A perimeter wall with an internal fence and walkway encloses the
section. There are security gates at the railroad entrances and at the road
entrance at a probable administration and security building (item 31).
15. A specific function for section B could not be determined from the
imagery. Buildings within the section resemble those used for general machine
building, assembly, and storage. Passenger-type, round-roofed rail cars,
approximately 21 meters (70 feet) in length, frequently observed adjacent to or
within the section offered no clues to the product or function.

(item 27) were constructed during 1964. A large, high-bay building (item 26) and
four buildings (items 30 31, 35, and 37) were externally complete between
An excavation between the probable former administra-
ion building and the probable new administration buildings (items 29 and 30)
observed in indicated that construction related to these buildings
was continuing.
13. The section is served by both road and rail; the rail line entering
through a security gate (item 18) branches into two spurs. One spur ends in
