The Xerox Corporation, the University of Rochester, and the Rochester Association
for the United Nations have es'tablishef`the Joseph C.--Wilson Award for Achievement
and Promise in Interslat1onal Affairs. We have been asked whether members of the
CouncIf,community wish to offer'nominations, and thinking that you might welcome
such an opportunity, I am passing along the information being distributed by the
sponsors of this award.
"The Award honors the late Mr. Wilson, who was a founder of the
RAUN, chairman and chief executive officer of Xerox, and long-
time chairman of the University's Board of Trustees. The Award
will recognize an individual for high achievement and potential
in activities contributing to the peaceful resolution of inter-
national problems. The recipient will be chosen annually, after
a nationwide canvass, by a panel of prominent citizens.
"The winner will receive $10,000, contributed by Xerox Corporation,
provide some o-rm of enriching experience, training, or study
that might not __,Qxio ,.be...avaj,lahle - or to assist in the comple-
tion of a special project of international significance
"The winner will be announced each United Nations Day beginning
October 24, 1975. The University of Rochester will arrange with
the recipient for discussions, lectures, and seminars to be given
in the Rochester area for several days during the spring following
the announcement.
"Nominations for the 1975 Award are to be made before July 31, 1975,
and should be addressed to: Joseph C. Wilson Award
