The subject refinery, located at geographic coordinates 560 14' N, 430 36' E; occupies an area of approximately 175 acres at.the east end of Chemical Plant Stroy 96 which is 4+.5 n.m..east of the center of Dzerzhinsk (Figures 1 & 2). 2. The refinery area is enclosed by the same wall system that provides security'for the chemical plant. There is no physical separation between the refining facilities and the rest of the installation, a fact which suggests that the refining facilities are an integral part of the chemical plant and that they are probably used to produce petroleum derivatives that`are utilized by the contiguous chemical plant or the other chemical plants in the immediate area. compare Figures 3 and 7.
