This report is one in a series on Soviet Ground Force and Logistic
installations being prepared for a DIA 'CIA Panel. The series is being
coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic
analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group,
the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production
Center 1PIc (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re-
port was performed by the Production Center 1Pic.
In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for
the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those
appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not
observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report.
Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as
follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips,
(D) adminis'rative and troop housing areas, (E) storage areas, (F) am-
munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (Il) other buildings and
facilities, (J) equipment storage /maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields,
(L) small arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/
assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, (Q) artillery
emplacements (batteries), (R) infantry or combined arms field train-
ing areas or courses, (S) special training facilities, (T) unidentified
facilities or tracking activity.

This military installation covering approx-
imately 165 acres is located on the southeast
edge of Kamenets Podolskiv (48-40N 026-34E)
and is approximately 4 kilometers (km) south-
east of Kamenets Podolskiv Artillery Depot
Smotrich (Figure 1).
The installation contains four barracks
buildings, six probable dependents quarters, two
probable administrative buildings, six support
buildings, and two athletic fields. In addition,
within a partially fenced area are two barracks,
10 support buildings, three probable vehicle
storage buildings, and a 350- by 40-foot uniden-
ified obstacle in the ground. (Figures 2 and 3)
The installation is covered by KEY-
HOLE missions between

Railroad Service
A railroad extending generally north to
south passes just east of the installation.
The main road service to the installation is
from the southeast. The road appears to be
of composition gravel /crushed rock with two
lanes.
Administrative and Troop Housing Areas
Area D1 (Figure 3) contains 16 probable
dependents quarters, two administrative build-
ings, three 320- by 50-foot probable vehicle
maintenance:' storage buildings, two barracks,
four storage buildings, seven support buildings,
and an unidentified obstacle in the ground south-
east of the barracks and inside the fence.
Area D2 contains four barracks and five
support buildings.
Athletic Fields
Area K includes two fields probably used
for troop recreation and as sports arenas.
