SUBJECT Request of Staff of SSCI for Portions
of Papers of NSC Working Group on Angola
1. Following the meeting which Chief, European Division
and I had with you and the Associate Deputy Director for
Operations on 10 March 1978, I informed Mr. Samuel Hoskinson
of the National Security Council (NSC) Staff that we were
not prepared to recommend the release of the portions of the
Angola Working Group papers requested by the staff of the
Senate Select CommitLee on Intelligence.
2. Mr. Hoskinson asked me to provide him with a written
justification of our position which he could show to
Dr. Brzezinski, if necessary.
3. Attached is a memorandum to Mr. Hoskinson which
would provide such justification.
