Approved For Re[ Use 1 Oq . t.lo~4M78-057,~,9A000100040615-2lf 27 August 1954 24QRAIMM FOR THE RECORD SUBJECT: Dismantling of 25X1 A2g 25X1A9a A survey was made by the undersigned, be of Real Estate & Construction to ascertain 'what is involved in 25X1A2g abandoning The following will be involved in 25X1A2d1 - a. Twenty-six 70 ft. poles are in excellent condition and should be mein available either to 08k for disposal to another Government agency or disposed of to an independent organization. b. Eight 10 ft. poles are in excellent con- dition and should be disposed of in like mariner. c. The station is surrounded by approximately 500 ft. of chain link fence. This fence appears to be in excellent condition and worth salvaging. d. The transformer pad is believed to have been installed especially for our facility, and should be removed to eliminate possibility of unauthorized entry and possible injury. e. The emergency generator house was constructed by CIA. If the Dept. of Agriculture does not desire to use the generator house, it is recommended that it be stripped completely of all conduit, switches, and other auxiliary items. The transmitter site involves many items similar to those at the receiver site. The #1 rhombic is constructed of trylon towers and should be removed and returned to our stock. It contains five 10 ft, poles in its transmission line however, and.these poles should be removed for salvage. Rhombics 2-6 all consist of four 90 ft. poles each in excellent condition. In addition #2 rhombic has ten 10 ft. :,Stubs, #3 rhombic has five 10 ft. stubs, and #5 rhombies have three each 10 ft. stubs, and #6 rhombic has one 10 ft. stub. Antennas 2-6 also have five 10 ft. poles involved in their dissipation lines. Within the fence compound., there are four 70 ft. poles and eleven 20 ft. poles which are subject to salvage. The buildings are of a prefabricated type and should be salvaged for use at another location if possible. The microwave building and tower will be dismantled and turned in to ware-_.._.__., house stock. ry ~/ 5 Approved For,,Release 1999/0 U41 ,CIA-RDP7; By separate correspondence, we have recomtmended that the Gates transmitters and Press Wireless transmitters be disposed of. It was also recommended that their disposal be effected in their present location in the interests of econo y. A problem cc on to both sites is the abandonment of the wells.
