The list includes only equipment produced in the Warsaw Pact countries and the People's Republic of China, It is intended to standardize reporting terminology to minimize discrepancies that impede computer retrieval of specific items of equipment. Questions on terminology and recommendations for adding new terms should be coordinated with Approved For Release,2QQ319ME?I1 26x1 25X1 25X1 25X1 oved For Releaseep3I EA REcI 8T&WA0104d I. Each item in the left-hand column is given with the proper spacing, with hypen or slash mark, and abbreviated if necessary to fit within the standard 24-character space common to the blip sheets and other forms on which order of battle is reported. All terms are singular; plurals should not be used. It should be noted that the Air Standardization Coordinating Committee (ASCC) designator is used as the identifier for reporting purposes in all cases where such a designator exists. Letter suffixes are used to designate aircraft models within the ASCC system. Models should be discriminated whenever possible; when more than one model is a possibility, list the letter suffixes with slash marks between them: FISHBED H/J/K. Derelict and dummy aircraft should be listed under the OBJ trinome: DUMMY FISHBED; DERELICT BEAST. Adjectives or additional descriptions should go in parentheses in the space for additional information below the date. Parentheses should not be used as part of the equipment name. The present computer retrieval program cuts off anything following the opening parenthesis because that symbol indicates that what follows is additional descriptive data and not actually a part of the equipment name. 25X1 Approved For Release 20h /S GRJETF DP78T04759A010400010167-8 App ~oved For Releasl9003f94TCE ~J8T04759A01040 designators.
