Suspect Marine Base, Slavyanka is located on the NE edge of Slavyanka at 42 52 20N-131 23 15E (Figure 1). A related training area is located 12 km. NNW of Slavyanka at 42 57 20N-131 18 20E (Figure 2). 2. The suspect marine base and the training area cover approximately 340 acres and contain 1 barracks/administration building; 5 storage buildings; 4 vehicle storage/maintenance buildings measuring 2 @ 90 by 45 ft., 1 @ 80 by 40 ft. and 1 @ 70 by 40 ft.; one 140 by 60 ft. vehicle maintenance building; two 175 by 65 ft. probable vehicle maintenance/storage buildings; 16 range control/support buildings and 37 support buildings. Other facilities are: 4 motor parks measuring 780 by 250 ft., 550 by 160 ft., 400 by 200 ft., and 175 by 65 ft.; 1 bivouac area; 3 tank/assault gun firing ranges each with 2 moving target runs (maximum firing distances are 1,220 ft., 860 ft., and 820 ft.) and numerous probable weapons emplacements (not annotated on Figure 2) are dispersed throughout the training area. Comparative analysis of missions between 25X1 indicates that the insta a ion was under construe ion prior 'to on this coverage the 2 probable vehicle maintenance/storage buildings, 3 vehicle storage maintenance buildings and 1 storage building were present. On the coverage 3 additional storage buildings were observed. On I coverage 1 additional vehicle storage/maintenance and 1 additional storage building were observed. This coverage also provided the first indication that this installation was military in nature. Three rows of possible vehicles were observed at this time. 4. The coverage provided the first evidence of the tank assault. gun ranges. The moving target runs were constructed between 5. The 0 coverage provided the firm signatures that were needed to identify the suspect marine base as being military in nature. On this coverage the 4 motor parks, the vehicle maintenance building, the bivouac area and the following vehicles/pieces of equipment were first observed: 9 possible tanks/SP guns, 80 APL's 27 probable APC's, 5 probable FA pieces, 60 cargo trucks, 26 possible utility trucks, and 48 other vehicles/pieces of equipment. 6. Also of interest in Slavyanka are Slavyanka Army Barracks AL-1 and AL-2 which are reported in NPIC, PIR Project 11909/64, dated May 1965 and NPIC, OAK- Part IV A break water or cofferdam is under construction 1.5 km SE of the suspect marine base.
