This report, prepared in response to DIA
requirement DIAXX 63-84, is the first of a series
that will cover certain requested military instal-
lations in Hungary.
Although this report utilizes II photog-
raphy for precise identification, and measure-
ment, the installations reported on remain sub-
stantially the same on laterl hotog-

This is a walled military installation that
covers approximately 28 acres and contains:
4 two-story barracks buildings, 195 by 65
feet
3 administration buildings, ranging from
100 by 85 to 75 by 40 feet, a total of
14,900 square feet
6 storage buildings, ranging from 330 by
35 to 135 by 30 feet, a total of 41,850
square feet
18 miscellaneous support buildings, ranging
from 120 by 45 to 45 by 15 feet
no observed ammunition or POL facilities
'Troop capacity is computed on a basis of 50 square feet
of billet space per man.

B. Artillery Barracks, Tortel Road No 1
Coordinates: 47-10-07N 19-49-57E

This is a fenced motor pool that covers ap-
proximately 7 acres and contains:
2 single-story barracks buildings, 135 by
25 and 120 by 40 feet
1 L-shaped administration building with
wings 65 by 20 and 50 by 25-feet, a total
of 2,050 square feet
5 vehicle sheds, ranging from 205 by 35 to
120 by 25 feet
6 miscellaneous support buildings, ranging
from 65 by 30 to 35 by 20 feet
no observed ammunition or POL facilities
C. Army Barracks, Tortel Road
Coordinates: 47-09-30N 19-50-25E

Troop capacity: 6,940
This is a fenced barracks area that covers
approximately 53 acres and contains:
6 two-story barracks buildings, 155 by 45,
120 by 70, 115 by 45, 115 by 40, 110 by
45, and 95 by 45 feet
5 three-story barracks buildings, each 265
by 70 feet
2 revetted ammunition storage buildings,
each 25 by 20 feet, a total of 1, 000 square
feet

a personnel-training area covering approxi-
mately 2.4 acres (located in the northeast
corner of the installation)

This fenced small-arms firing range covers
approximately 16 acres. The range measures
1,050 by 180 feet. There are two support build-
ings, 65 by 30 and 15 by 15 feet. No ammunition
or POL facilities were observed.
E. Ammunition Dump, Southeast
Coordinates: 47-08-55N 19-52-05E

The double-fenced munitions storage area
covers approximately 23 acres. It contains nine
unrevetted storage buildings, ranging from 80 by
20 to 15 by 15 feet, a total of 8,900 square feet.
No POL facilities were observed.

acres, and contains artillery emplacements,
trenches, foxholes, and a wheeled-vehicle driv-
er-training course.
