1.1 As you are aware, the House Permanent Select
Committee on Intelligence is looking into the areas in
which CIA has relations with U.S. academia. There are
several requests that I have sent to you which have nii yet
been answered and I would appreciate your efforts to expedite`
replies. The unanswered requests made to date are as follow:
a. On 3 August 1978 Loch Johnson, House Permanent
Select Committee on Intelligence staff, requested a
briefing from DDO on DDO's on-campus recruiting for
staff positions. Ca v or
b. On 16 August 1978 Loch Johnson requested a paper
citing the numbers of paid contacts in the U.S. academic
