Sipiagin, assistant director of the SIT Purchasing Office, continues to super- vise the regular collection and loading of scrap metal from 31,IV installations for shipment to the Satellites. Scrap shipments to Czechoslovakia totalled three carloads during the reek ending 29 i4ay 1951; 23 carloads between 30 ~+ay and 5 June 1951; six carloads between 6 and 12 June 1951; and 26 carloads be- tween 13 June and 11 July 1951. During the same period the SIN also delivered 16 carloads of cast iron scrap to the USIA-controlled 'iener Leichtmetallverke G.m.b.H., Liesing. In addition to handling the procurement of the routine requirements of the various SLV installations, the SMV Purchasing Office has in the past few months arranged a numoer of purchases on behalf of Satellite agencies, Some- time in late May 1951 a Hungarian purchasing agent arrived in Vienna to pro- cure equipment for I'.aszolaj, UngarischeTussische Oel A.G. in Szoeny, ?tungary. Through the cooperation of the S"rlV Purchasing Office the Iungarian buyer was able to purchase approximately 6,300,000 schillings' worth of equipment. The first shipnent on this order, filly documented as Soviet military supplies, was dispatched to Budapest by DDSG barge on 21 ?Tay 1951. It included the following items: dri:llin/; equipment from t`annesmann Trauzl A.G.; Klingerit plates from Richard Klinger A.G.., Gumpoldskirchen, Lower Austria; and casing heads an6 other oil. field equipment from "Canada," Tiefbohrgeraete-u. thaschinen- fabrik G.m.b.H. A second barge load of purchases for Hungary, including 15 tons of drilling equipment and measuring instruments fror? the "Canada" firm, was shipped from henna during the last week of tray 1951., By 12 June 1951 11annesmrann-Trauz+. A.G. had delivered a total of nine carloads of drilling equipment, valued at 2,250,657 schillings, to Maszolaj A.G. on this order4 Meantime, SLW Furcha sing agents have been busy procuring drilling equipment and other oil field supplies on a 10,000,000-schilling order from the Polish Government. Commodities purchased on this order include drilling pipe from i:Iannesmann-Trr,jzl A.G., various other types of oil field equipment from Teud- loff-Vamag A.."., 800 meters of special chains from Franz Kohmaier, and 1,000 pilings and cross ties from J. & C. Reder, Vienna XX.(8) 10. The Czech Covernment recently purchased a complete seismographic unit from the S!V at a co't of 7,600,000 schillings. (1) ICo mment: This town cannot accurately be identified from available gaz,-c e, ars. (2) Cow: This shipment of. solvents was forwarded on an-order from SW' Headquarters. (3) II Comment: This paraffin was earmarked for delivery to the Okeros refinery in Stockerau. nierstrasse 26.
