As you know from our discussions, the Morgan-
Schmitt Subcommittee of the Senate Select Committee on
Ethics has been occupying Room 17 of the Russell Senate
Office Building in connection with its investigations
of unauthorized disclosures of classified information.
You are also aware, of course, of our constant need to
examine highly classified data. The space we occupy
has a system for physical protection which was developed
with the assistance of your Agency security personnel.
Our work would be facilitated, and I would be
most appreciative, if this room could be accredited
for the storage of compartmented material. You may
be assured that each element of the system will be
maintained, and that we will exercise the highest
degree of care to safeguard against any unauthorized
disclosure of material entrusted to us.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Donald G. Sanders
Special Counsel
