Approved For Release 2007/09/11 : CIA-RDP85M00366R000100110005-5 SUBJECT: Rand Projects I would appreciate your comments on the projects suggested by Rand in the appended materials. Some of these items look like ones that should be of direct interest to us, while others would not be. Note in particular the proposed "NEW INITIATIVES AND SPECIAL ASSISTANCE" category which would enable us to get help on short notice from Rand. John McMahon's reaction to going ahead along these lines is favorable, as is mine. We will be discussing this proposal with the Director next week. In addition to commenting on the topics suggested by Rand, you might think about ones that you would like to see undertaken and that might be discussed with Rand.
