Approved For Release 2006/11/30: CIA-RDP73B00296R000300250062-3 Journal - Office of Legislative Counsel Page 2 Wednesday - 20 January 1971 25X1 5. (Confidential - LLM) 1 1, Liaison Officer, DCS, reported that he had received a call from Huber,in the office of Representative Fred B. Rooney (D. , Pa. ), concerning Agency action 25X1 on a request related to application to FCC for the renewal of an amateur radio license byl by FCC. FCC was pleased to be given the opportunity to report back directly to Huber on the actual status of the application. . Upon checking with his FCC counterpart, learned that Huber had been referred t =by FCC and that, in fact, the request to the Agency on the case had not yet been sent 6. (Secret - JGO) Met with Mr. Ralph Preston, House Appropriations Committee staff, and briefed him on the "Caspian Sea monster" (see Journal item of 18 January 1971). He was most appreciative. In telling me a little about the highlights of his trip to the west coast, he said that he had been scheduled for a codeword briefing at Lockheed but that a scheduling mixup by the military had prevented his attendance. He requested, if possible, that a briefing be arranged for himself and Mr. Peter Murphy on the project this week. Mr. has been advised. Mr. Preston noted, in passing, that he will try once again during the coming month to schedule some time with me to go over the volume of sensitive files that he inherited in order to retire, destroy, or take whatever action is necessary regarding them. 7. (Internal Use Only - JGO) At her request, met briefly with Mrs. Olive Hurley, Secretary to Senator J. Caleb Boggs (R., Del.), who gave me a personnel resume of a Miss f Wilmington, Delaware. Mrs. Hurley told me that Miss is the daughter of a friend of the Senator's but that separately her qualifications appear to be of a nature that would be of interest to the Central Intelligence Agency. 8. (Confidential - JGO) Scheduled a meeting for 1030 a. m. Thursday, 21 January, with Mr. Ralph Preston, House Appropriations Committee staff, and Mr. Charles Dudley, Committee Reporter, for a demonstration and technical security check of a public address system developed for use in the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee hearing room. Mr. I , Office of Security, has been advised. SECREI Approved For Release 2006/11/30: CIA-RDP73B00296R000300250062-3
