REPRODUCTION OF THIS FORM 15 PROHIBITED. 1, In 1949 exploration for iron ore was begun in the Seliste mountains, located about six kilometers north of the village of Slepce and four kilometers south of the village of Zvan, Demir-Hisarski districts. 'Macedonia. In 1951 the exploration was under the direction of the IrTsert? government mine near Kicevo, Macedonia, About 50 miners, mechanics, and laborers were employed in the area, 2, In six of the seven drillings ore was found at distances varying from 52 to 78 meters below the surface of the ground, The seventh drilling was unsuccessful, In the entire area about 68 holes were drilled, The ore was found at depths varying from 50 to 300 meters below the surface, /+, The following drills were used& One German Trauser diesel 20=horsepower drill capable of drilling 700 meters; and b? Four Soviet Krelius diesel 12'-horsepower drills capable of drilling 300 meters down* 5. In January 1952 nine shafts, 100 to 340 meters long, had been opened but the mine had not yet begun operating. About 180 tons of the ore from the mine had been sent to the government foundry in Zenica, Bosnia, for testing purposes, 25X1 6, The manager of the mine was Milan Bozovic, and the technical manager was STATE # ARMY a certain Laskiev, an engineer.
