Training .The soldiers undergo an initial training period of six months as recruits in the training centers of the Border Guard Units. In the training centers they also acquire some spedialized skills. After this period they are sent to various border guard units on the frontiers. They continue technical army training and also specialized training while they are in the guard units. 11. Complements of Border Guard Regiments The complement of a regiment is from 2,000 to 29500 men. All the regiments are organized in a similar way. The differences lie only in the sizes of the regiments and the variation is determined by the size and importance of the frontier area to be guarded. The Yugoslav frontier is the best guarded and therefore the regiments assigned to this sector have over-sized complements. Here the armaments are of the best type, and training and discipline are the most severe. SECRET/CONTROL - U. S. OFFICIALS ONLY Approved For Release 2006/04/18 : CIA-RDP82-00457R015000260002-9
