5. Normal Materiel of a Soviet Border Post
a. Automatic machine guns
b. Short, five-round rifle with round bayonet for cavalrymen
c. Long infantry rifles, bearing the mark "T.C." (sic), with bayonet.
d. Pistols.
e, Mortar guns, 62 mm (sic).
f. Antiaircraft machine guns installed in front of guardhouse.
g. Searchlight.
h. Hand grenades.
i. Cartridge pouch of waterproof material; sixty cartridges.
j. Telephone receivers for patrols and watch guards.
6. Personnel Uniforms
a. Casque caps.
b. Leather belts with a star on the hook.
c. Leather boots.
d. Grey overcoats.
e. Military blouse.

The insignia is a five-point star with sickle and hammer.
7. Aerial Camouflage of a Soviet Border Post
a. Tin roofs are painted grey or black.
b. Grass and vines are being grown around storehouses containing foods
and supplies.
c. Camouflage efforts are being made to give the surface of the airfields
the appearance of the land surrounding them.

8. Border Fortifications
a. There are single trenches for various positions, i.e.,,lying, kneeling,
and standing, camouflaged by plant growth.
b. There are fortifications located at Khuda Afarin, Shakur Baglu, Khalaflu,
and Menyevan posts.
c. There are company and battalion centers connected to underground trenches
and fortifications by communication lines.
d. Theri are ammunition stores and depots surrounded with minefields and
electric-current fences.
Guardhouse Compound Facilities
a. Office.
b. Radio station.
c. Place for charging batteries for radio and radio apparatus.
d. Sleeping room.
e. Sleeping-rooms for soldiers with temporary missions.
f. Bath-house.
g. Jail.
h. Supply store.
i. Kennels.
j. Underground stables for horses.(sic).
The buildings are constructed of stone and cement. The roofs are tin,aand
painted black.
Antiaircraft machine gun positions and trenches are built in the corner
of the guardhouse compound.
10. Railroad Station Copound Facilities
a. Main office located in one of the cars of the train.
b. Room for drivers.
c. Sleeping rooms for workers.
d. Repair shops.
e. Supply stores.
f. Refinery.
g. Fuel stores.
h. Heavy oil and kerosene reservoirs.
i. Water reservoir.
j. Steam caldrons.
k. Restaurants.
