--Section.-30.1-of the_Civil_Ser_v_ice Reform_Act_(5 U.S_._C.__ 3.111) -authorized-agencies-
to accept volunteer service from students under certain conditions.
I am interested in whether your agency has utilized the authorities under this
section. If so, please describe the situation in which this authority was used,
how many volunteers it involved, the type of work they were doing, whether there
was any provision for the volunteers to convert to or apply for civil service jobs,
and whether the program is on-going. Further, please inform me of any plans you
have for the continued use of this authority.
