The series is being coordinated, published and disseminated by NPIC. The photographic analysis is being performed by the NPIC Photographic Analysis Group, the CIA Photographic Intelligence Division (NPIC), and the Production Center 1Plc (DIA). The photographic analysis for this particular re- port was performed by the Production Center 1Plc. In the interest of uniformity, the titles and letter designators for the facilities observed at these installations are identical with those appearing in the project requirement. When a specific facility is not observed both its title and letter designator are omitted in the report. Titles and letter designators for the various facilities are as follows: (A) railroad service, (B) road service, (C) landing strips, (D) administrative and troop housing areas, (ti) storage areas, (F) am- munition storage areas, (G) POL storage areas, (II) other buildings and facilities, (J) equipment storage/maintenance areas, (K) athletic fields, (L) small arms firing ranges, (M) driver training areas, (N) tank/ assault gun firing ranges, (P) flat trajectory firing ranges, (Q) artillery emplacements (batteries), (R) infantry or combined arms field train- ing areas or courses, (S) special training facilities, (T) unidentified facilities or tracking activity. 25X1 25X1 Approved For Release 2003/05/14: CIA-RDP7 1B04560A002400010118-2 TOP SECRET Approved TOP SECRET For Release 2003/05/14: CIA-RD Railro:ul, double track Railroad. single track Road FIGURE 7. The installation includes (Figures 2 and 3) a large, double-secured stor- age area with approximately 41 explosives stor- age buildings and a support area with three barracks, two administration buildings, three storage buildings, and five support buildings. A rail spur from the Lvov-Nesterov rail line serves the storage area along the southern half. Four storage buildings are located along this rail spur. A majority of the storage build- ings, approximately 31, are revetted with earth walls on at least one side and located in heavy woods. No definite pattern or uniformity appears in the placement of these buildings. Roads within the area are poor, apparently dirt, and running at random through the woods. Good all-weather roads connect the installation with the city of Lvov. Approximately 15 new buildings have been added in the storage area 25X1 25X1 The support area may contain additional build- ings; however, the scale and quality of the photography preclude detailed interpretation of the heavily wooded area in the north section. This installation probably serves the nu- merous military installations and two training areas within the Lvov area. The installation was covered by 25X1 25X1 Railroad Service Two spurs from the main line run to two, 140- by 40-foot and 210- by 50-foot, track- side docks. Four buildings are along the tracks. Road Service Good roads connect the area with the city of Lvov. Aircraft Landing Strip Lvov Airfield is 8 km south. Administrative and Troop Housing Area Area D contains three multistory barracks, two multistory administration buildings, three storage buildings, and seven support buildings. There are probably more buildings in the woods, but scale and quality of the photography preclude further interpretation. Ammunition Storage Area Area F contains 41 explosives storage build- ings, seventeen 100- by 35 feet, thirteen 130- by 40 feet and eleven 200- by 40 feet. Most of the buildings are revetted. The area is located in heavy woods. 25X1 Approved For Release 2003/05/14: CIA-RDP TOP SECRET Approve TOP SECRET d For Release 2003/05/14: CIA-RD 25X1 M1 Approved For Release 2003/05/14: CIA-R P78B04560A002400010118-2 TOP SECRET Approved TOP SECRET For Release 2003/05/14: CIA-RDP7 BO456OA002400010118-2 NPIC/R-667/64 Road Fence ------ Area outline 100 0 100 200 300 400 500 25X1 25X1 Approved For Release 2003/05/14: CIA-RDP7 BO456OA002400010118-2 TOP SECRET Approved For RII9re 93 Al NPIC/R-667/64 US Air Target Chart, Series 200, Sheet 0232-15HL, 3d ed, Apr 63 (SECRET) -6- Approved For Release 2003/05/14: TOP SECRET 25X1 25X1 TOP SECRET Approved For Release 2003/05/14: CIA-RDP78B04560A002400010118-2 Approved For Release 2003/05/14: CIA-RDP78B04560A002400010118-2 TOP SECRET
