SUBJECT: Production of Population and Manpower Studies:

1. Attached is a copy of a. communication from the Deputy Director of
Intelligence,. Military Intelligence Division, War Department General Staff on
the above subject.
2.. It is requested that an officer from ORE be designated to consult
with ICAPS on this subject in the preparation of the program for coordination
recommended in the attached communication.
3e. It appears the studies which will result from the proposed program may
logically fall under the basic intelligence program already initiated. However,
special approach to the problem, with the participation of the interested outside
agencies, may speed its solution and need not confuse the basic intelligence,
program.
