An RFP, including the Statement of Work (SOW for Phase II-B on the ITS-W Program has been forwarded to on 31 August. 2. Two dry runs of the CDS pre-acceptance test were conducted which uncovered a large number of minor software problems. The start of formal pre-acceptance testing has been delayed to late September. 3. After awarding the HATS contract to Raytheon Dat=a Systems Company, the contractor and OC-E coordination commenced with the first project meetings and contractor's submission of the Program Plan on 03 and 04 August. On 30 August, procurement action was initiated for the acqui- sition of two additional links for HATS. 5. The Agency's future requirements for the tandem switch were compiled during the reporting period. These requirements included the total number of sites, trunk signaling techniques, number of ports and trunks, and traffic requirements. This information was submitted to 4. The final report on the recent HF error-control tests was completed and distributed. OC-E representatives, accompanied by the DBA Systems AFT Program Manager, visited the Teletype Corporation on 03 and 04 August to discuss M-40 KDP equipment and documentation deficiencies. As a result of this meeting--and additional documentation provided by Teletype Corporation--all problems have been satisfactorily resolved. On 16 and 17 August, the DBA AFT Program Manager and the DBA Senior AFT Programmer visited Headquarters to present their preliminary software design plan. Although a number of minor discrepancies were noted and discussed, DBA's overall design of the system shows a good under standing of the functional requirements. 7. The TEMPEST tests conducted on the ARTEC 1041 Baudot Tape Typewriter (BTT) were completed on 10 August and reported favorable over the Edityper system. The ARTEC machine is now undergoing servicing, and, upon return, will be available for. further evaluation. 8. On 13 August, OC-E representatives started on- site inspection of the contractor''s Red grid installation on the second floor of the Building, It is estimated that the installation will be completed by 15 September. 9.. An order was placed, for 50 digital facsimile machines from 3M, Two preproduction models are due in December with the remainder due prior to September 1977, A new project will be initiated to provide a skin-tight TEMPEST enclosure. We are expecting a significant size/ weight reduction over the existing EC-8 enclosure. SKYMUX - Four MX-113's have passed T1I, while two have been rejected. Units have been shipped to 0 and for the test bed installation. Atlantic Research is preparing for a TEMPEST evaluation of the MX-113. 21. The LED MWO for the 651S-1 receiver is being finalized and will be submitted for publication in early September. 22. One SKYLINK Terminal was shipped to during August. Seven SKYLINK installation hardware kits were prepared and designated by terminal numbers. 23. The General Radio Automatic Test Equipment, Model 1792D, arrived and was assembled. This equipment will undergo system testing in early September. Additionally, three people have been selected for factory training in the General Radio programming techniques in mid-September. 24. TECHREQ traffic remained high for August with 515 messages processed; R$R transactions for the month totalled 1,316.
