1. l3etrveen 1 and ? October 1954, the Infanterie Kaaerne in Brandenburg
appeared to be less occupied than previously. There was vehicular
traffic in the direction of Brandenburg-Briest. The following matox
vehicles were seen at the barracks installatic-;:

field was occupie3 by 5 light 1~ guns and b heavier A~ guns. Only the
muz::les of the gone were assn. Ten tents ti7ere seen between the ~A gun
emplacement and the landing field. The Axl unit had an estimated stren,;th
of .3O men who were occasionally seen doing athletics. Six AA guns of
hea'rier caliber were seen in the AA gun enplacement at the northern edge
of ':he field between the airfield boundary and the end of the footpath
at 1leuendorf er Sand . 3
4. On ?1 October, building l~ro 1 of ttie Infanterie ~:aserne was fully
lighted. Previousl the buildin? had been only partly li~,hted.

6. Since about 20 October, earthvrork has been under way at the training
~rowid of the Infanterie Y:aserne. Pits, about 25 x 1~~ meters, were
excFV..~,ted. The construction site was surrounded by a wooden fence. about
50 lo;;s, 20 to 25 cm in diameter and 6 to 8 meters lon, were seen next
to the pits. It appeared that air raid bunkers were to be built there,
o~~ possibly a filling station was to be constructed. r1r. air unit was
stationed in the main building of the barracks installation. ~1n air

Comment. Brandenburg-Industriehafen airfield is occupied by a
;;round attack re,;iment which is equipped with about 45 I1-lOs, 27 numbers
~Co~~-ent. The two A.~S gun emplacement were previously only occupied
by 3?-mm Atl guns. AA guns of heavier caliber are normally associated with
airfields occupied by ground attack aircraft. The information remains
to be confirmed.
