From April to October of 1952 and 1953 the corps headquarters was 25X1 located in the western section of the summer camp in Nagyerdb, 5 kilometers north of Debrecen, at a site which adjoined the tent camp of the corps signal battalion to the south. In 1952, three permanent buildings were constructed in that section of the camp which was occupied by the corps headquarters. 2 3. Prior to the fall of 1953 the corps artillery regiment was L:J/~. located in the former Motor Transport Barracks on the nor s e of Kl~roly Ferenc Street (formerly Hortobagy fele), about 200 meters west of the KE~rol Ferenc Street and Bb`szormenyi Street, in Debrecen. undetermined25X1 number of buildings were newly aonstruc e n e area o nstallation. 3 4. Prior to the fall of 1953r Honv~d Hospital No.4 was located on the north and south aides of Bartok H61a Street, west of the intersection of Bartok Bela Street and Boszormenyi Street, in Debrecen. Medical corps doldiera said that the hospital was subordinate to the army corps headquarters. 4 5. Units other than the corps signal battalion which were located in the former Artillery Barracks on the northwestern side of Kasai Street prior to the fall of 1953 included an artillery unit of about battery size at which no guns vrere observed and the superior headquarters of which was undetermined; an AAA unit of undetermined subordination, activated in the fall of 19,51 and equipped with about 20 AA guns which, an AA artilleryman said, were 85-mm.guns; and a locator (radar) company which was activated in the fall of 1951 and was subordinate to the national air defense headquarters (OLP).5 6~ Prior to the fall of 1953, a rifle regiment was uartered in the Pavilion utheastern sec. of Debrecen. 25X1 7. From April to October of 1952 and 1953 a division headquarters and at least component units of a division were located in the eastern section of the summer camp in N erdo, ~ kilometers north of Debrecen. Only artillerymen were observed in this sec ion. 9. An engineer battalion in Mezetur 25X1 is reported for?the first time. It is believed that the unit 25X1 is the techhical battalion of the corps. It is believed that the town mentioned in said 25X1 GJ/~ I 25X1 report ~o~~i has also been Karczag. The superior headquarters of the rifle regiment is still undetermined. 25X1 13. 14. Hodmezd-Vasar in S$entes. of Kalooea, 1 reported last in March 1952 from 25X1 tion of the 3d Bn of the infantry regiment tes summer camp, 20 kilometers southeast the first time. Comment. It is believed that Vao is the location of the 25X1 army signal corps school at which the regional signal contests have probably been held.
