1. The Greek Community in Rumania numbers approximately 15,000, of whom
5,000 possess Greek passports but do not have the financial means to
effect their repatriation. A majority of these Greeks reside in Bucharest,
with smaller groups located in Constanta, Braila, and Galati. Between
1945 and 1945 the Community handled its affairs with little interference
from the Rumanian Government, although FADS has functioned in Rumania since
1944.
