Close up of the Campanile (Bell Tower) of the Duomo (Cathedral) in Pisa. In an effort to compensate for the tilt, the medieval engineers built the upper floors with one side taller than the other. So, the tower is actually curved. Begun in 1178, the tower was not completed until 1319.
