Reactor Achieves Criticality: The reactor of the
second French nuclear ballistic missile submarine,
Le Terrible, went critical during the week of 26 April.
Comment: The achievement of criticality of the
reactor indicates that the construction of the sub-
marine's nuclear propulsion system is nearly completed.
